3D Designing: The new ABCs for school students
3D Designing - The new ABCs for school students The terms 3D modeling, 3D designing, CAD (Computer Aided Design), CAM, etc. are now becoming popular among the school students. In India, it is even refered to when speaking of STEM education or Tinkering labs. Two of the commonly known softwares / applications are TinkerCAD & SelfCAD. TinkerCAD: TinkerCAD is an amazing free-to-use web-application that school going students use for a variety of things. Using TinkerCAD's circuit, studemts can simulate an electrical or electronic circuit. It even has support for arduino. Other than circuits, students can also use TinkerCAD to make simple 3D drawings that can even be 3D printed. Once a 3D design is made in TinkerCAD, it can be saved in .stl format. & Using softwares like Ultimaker Cura or Prusa Slic3r, the .gcode file can be created. The gcode file can then be fed to a 3D Printer to make the object. The diagram above shows the steps to 3D print an object. If you do not have a 3D...
